Summary: Online trolls targeted Deepika Padukone when she shared insights about the initial phase of her relationship with Ranveer Singh during her appearance on Koffee with Karan.

The eighth season of Koffee with Karan began with the Bollywood duo Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. However, over the last two days, Deepika has been the target of extensive online trolling, stemming from her disclosures about their open relationship during the initial phase of their romance. In response, comedian and actor Vir Das expressed his support for Deepika through an indirect tweet.

Vir Das posted a message on a certain platform, commenting, "Let's take a moment to reflect on all the men who are bothered by the fact that a Bollywood star, who's seemingly out of their league, was casually dating for a while and didn't exhibit the same level of commitment as their idealized girlfriend."

During the show, the couple openly discussed the dynamics of their relationship in its initial stages, provoking a variety of responses on the internet. Deepika explained that they didn't have an exclusive commitment until Ranveer proposed, and they were "technically allowed" to date other people.

Deepika explained, "Deepika clarified, "I required some space to be by myself as I had encountered difficult relationships in the past. I went through a phase where I just wanted to enjoy being unattached and not tied down. I had a great time. Then he entered my life, and I didn't make a formal commitment until he proposed to me. It wasn't a traditional commitment per se. Even though we technically had the freedom to see other people, we always gravitated back to each other."

Ranveer and Deepika, who exchanged vows in 2018, also unveiled an exclusive wedding video from their archives during their appearance on Karan Johar's show. The couple has been in a relationship for nearly 11 years.
