Shahid Kapoor Wants Kids to Grow Up Normal, Says Fame Isn’t the Focus

Summary: The actor says he and Mira aim for a grounded childhood for children Misha and Zain.

Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor opened up about parenting his two children, Misha and Zain, saying he and wife Mira Rajput are trying hard to shield them from the glare of the spotlight and let them enjoy a normal childhood.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Shahid described how he and Mira handle fame at home. He admits that his children will become aware of his fame as they grow older, but he wants to maintain their lives as normal as possible for as long as possible. When they ask questions about his work or fame, he says they answer honestly and simply, without making it a big deal.

Shahid said he personally tries to detach from the “star” label because the noise of fame can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to lose sight of yourself. He said that being loyal to his ideals, prioritising family, and maintaining great relationships had helped him stay calm among the chaos that can come with celebrity life.

The actor mentioned that his perspective on films and characters has evolved, noting that he now favours more complex and layered roles. And while he is busy with work, including upcoming films such as O Romeo and Cocktail 2, Shahid makes it clear that family remains his anchor.

Raising children in the public eye isn’t new for Bollywood stars, but Shahid’s candid thoughts offer a rare peek into how one of the industry’s big names is navigating that balance — keeping fame at arm’s length while giving his kids room to grow up just a little more like regular kids than celebrity kids.
