Aamir Khan Reveals The Details Of His Upcoming Movie Titled ‘Sitare Zameen Par’

Summary: Aamir Khan recently unveiled his upcoming project, 'Sitare Zameen Par,' and he mentioned that the film would bear similarities to his 2007 hit, 'Taare Zameen Par.'

In 2007, Aamir Khan and Darsheel Safary delivered a massive hit with 'Taare Zameen Par.' It marked Aamir's directorial debut and delved into the life and imagination of Ishaan, an 8-year-old dyslexic child, a role Aamir not only directed but also acted in. Written by Amole Gupte, the film earned a National Award. Aamir Khan has now unveiled his forthcoming project titled 'Sitare Zameen Par,' which he revealed shares a thematic connection with 'Taare Zameen Par.'

Following the disappointment of 'Laal Singh Chaddha,' Aamir Khan has unveiled his next project. During an interview with News18, Aamir shared, "I haven't discussed it publicly, and I can't reveal too much right now. But I can share the title. The film is called 'Sitare Zameen Par.' You might recall my movie 'Taare Zameen Par,' and this new film, 'Sitare Zameen Par,' is a continuation with a similar theme. 'Taare Zameen Par' was a heartfelt film that brought tears, while this one will bring laughter and entertainment."

Aamir further elaborated, saying, "Nevertheless, the core theme remains consistent. This is precisely why we chose this name with great consideration. We all possess imperfections and vulnerabilities, yet we also harbor unique strengths. So, we're advancing this theme. In 'Taare Zameen Par,' my character assists the special child Ishaan. However, in 'Sitare Zameen Par,' it's the reverse scenario - nine boys grappling with their individual challenges extend their support to my character."

In 'Taare Zameen Par,' Darsheel Safary portrayed the character of Ishaan Awasthi, who grapples with dyslexia, while Aamir Khan took on the role of Ram Shankar Nikumbh, an art teacher. The film delves into the life and imagination of Ishaan, a child with poor academic performance, leading his parents to enroll him in a boarding school. There, a new art teacher, Nikumbh, suspects Ishaan's dyslexia and assists him in overcoming his reading disorder.

'Taare Zameen Par' hit theaters on December 21, 2007, and enjoyed significant commercial success, grossing Rs 1.35 billion worldwide.
