Summary: Ranbir Kapoor recently in an interview shared some exciting tid-bit of the sequel of Animal, Animal Park.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal is streamed on Netflix on 26 January, 2024. Since the release of the movie on the OTT platform, there have been fresh debates on the movie. Animal is the most controversial movie of 2023. Some fans spoke in favor of the movie while some critics were against the toxicity and sexism depicted in the movie.

Animal earned a total collection of ₹915 at the box office. Now fans are extremely excited for the sequel of the movie. During a chat with the stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi for Netflix India, Ranbir Kapoor said that many people weren’t aware of the story of Animal during the production.

He stated, “Bobby Deol had no idea about the story. Anil Kapoor sir knew the father-son story. But there were many aspects where Sandeep was very secretive about his script. Regarding Animal Park, he (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) has one or two scenes ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting,""Now, because of the success of Animal, he has the confidence and courage to go even darker and more complex,” he further added.

Addressing the negative reviews on the movie, Ranbir Kapoor said the controversy created a “healthy” conversation among people.

He said, “A healthy conversation took place about toxic masculinity also, which is a great thing because cinema at least starts a conversation. If something is wrong, and you don’t show that it is wrong, and unless the conversation happens in the society, we will never come to terms with it.”

The actor added, “The roles we are playing, they are characters. It is important that as actors, we have empathy for them because we are playing them. But as an audience, you can decide what’s wrong. You can make a film on the wrong person and I feel it should be made. Because if you don’t make a film on characters like them, society will never know and improve.”

Animal Park, if and when released, will also become the topic of discussion among the audience, since Vanga will be taking it to a darker horizon.
