Summary: Arshad Warsi says Bollywood avoids risks and praises Saiyaara for proving originality still works.

Arshad Warsi has never been the kind to sugarcoat things, and this time, he’s calling out Bollywood for playing it too safe. In a candid chat, the actor said the industry has stopped taking real creative risks. Sure, movies are getting bigger and flashier, but that doesn’t always mean they’re better. “We’ve become scared to experiment,” he said — and honestly, he has a point.

Warsi believes the obsession with massive action scenes and larger-than-life heroes started after RRR. Every film now tries to outdo the other — more VFX, louder fights, flashier sets — but somewhere, the stories have started to feel the same. “Where are the real people?” he asked, pointing out how disconnected many films have become from actual human emotions.

What gives him hope, though, is a film like Saiyaara. With no big names and no formulaic storytelling, the film still struck a chord. Warsi praised it for doing what many don’t — taking a chance. In an age where big studios chase trends, Saiyaara showed that audiences still love sincerity over spectacle.

He also threw in a bit of advice for filmmakers: if you’ve got the talent and the platform, stop playing it safe. “Try something new — people might just love it,” he said.

And honestly, he’s right. Not every film needs to be a blockbuster-style fantasy. Sometimes, it’s the simple, honest stories that stay with us — and Warsi seems to be reminding Bollywood of exactly that.
