Baby John Box Office Collection: Varun Dhawan South Debut Collects ₹12.5 Crore On Day 1

Summary: On Christmas, Varun Dhawan's Baby John had a modest debut, overshadowed by Pushpa 2's ongoing success.

Bollywood's Christmas performance was uneventful, with Varun Dhawan's much-awaited Baby John releasing to dismal box office receipts. Sacnilk, a tracking website, estimates that the movie made Rs 12.5 crore on its first day in India.

Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, earned Rs 19.75 crore on its 21st day of release, outperforming Baby John despite the holiday bump. Mufasa's success and Pushpa 2's continued dominance had a big impact on Baby John's performance.

On its first day, Baby John's Hindi occupancy rate was 24.97 percent. The movie had 801 showings in the Mumbai area with a 26.25 percent occupancy rate and 1046 showings in Delhi-NCR with a 25.75 percent occupancy rate.

Mufasa, which was released in several languages, had an increase in earnings this holiday season, earning Rs 14.25 crore on its sixth day.

It has been two years since Varun's last film. Most recently, he starred in Amar Kaushik's 2022 film Bhediya, which earned Rs 66.65 crore at the end of its domestic run after earning Rs 7.48 crore on its first day of release.

Despite receiving unfavorable reviews, Baby John is Varun Dhawan's greatest opener at the box office in the last five years. However, Jugjugg Jeeyo collected Rs 9.28 crore on its opening day, while Bhediya grossed Rs 7.48 crore on its first day.
