Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, is seeing a sudden decline at the box office. By the sixth day, the total screenings had fallen from 4,917 to 2,089—a decrease of about 3,000 shows.

On Tuesday, the film grossed ₹1.75 crore across various languages, bringing its total earnings in India to ₹40.95 crore. Despite crossing the ₹40 crore mark, a drop in both screenings and audience occupancy makes the potential success doubtful.

The film was initially released on June 5 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, but was not screened in Karnataka due to the controversy surrounding Haasan's earlier comments. With occupancy falling to about 17%, Tamil Nadu, a sizable and influential movie market, also reported a reduction in attendance.

Amidst mixed reviews and waning audience interest, the film finds itself at a critical juncture. The coming week will decide its fate, whether it will bounce back or disappear from cinemas.
