Summary: 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah' actor Kush Shah confirmed his departure from the show after 16 years. Co-stars pen sweet notes.

Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is Indian television's longest-running show. The sitcom grabbed waves again when Kush Shah, aka Goli, left after 16 years. Kush began his career as a young artist on the show, and as he prepares to move to New York for further studies, the actor has said goodbye to the show.

Following his exit, Kush posted a video praising TMKOC producer Asit Kumar Modi. His co-stars, Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta, also wrote heartfelt notes for him.

Kush Shah burst into tears during his farewell cake-cutting ceremony on the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The cast and staff members were present for the farewell.

Dilip, who plays Jethalal on Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, tweeted a video from an earlier episode in which he pinches Kush's character. He captioned the video, "Kush Shah, this pinch is for leaving us!" But, jokes aside, I've enjoyed every scene I've done with you. I wish you the best. May you continue to make people smile! I'm looking forward to seeing you go as far as a bandook ki 'goli' now!"

In a heartfelt statement, Munmun Dutta, who plays Babita Iyer on the show, called Kush her trolling partner.

Munmun Dutta, who plays Babita Iyer on the program, penned an emotional message to Kush, calling him her trolling partner. She wrote, "Kush I am in tears writing this, but I miss you, bro. We all do, and always will. My ragging and trolling companion. You are extremely talented, and we are already proud of who you are and your journey. I wish I was able to attend this farewell party. I'll miss our witty banter terribly. It's not fun without you. But New York, baby!! Hell yeah... All the best, and I'll see you in NYC soon."

Kush Shah is been replaced by Dharmit Shah. When Dharmit Shah appeared in the first episode, the audience welcomed him with open arms. Dharmit spoke to ETimes about succeeding Kush Shah and how he was awarded the post. The new Goli said, "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is my favorite show, and I consider myself fortunate to be a part of it." He said I have a responsibility that I need to carry out properly. I am quite confident in my role.

He also said, “Goli is a foodie, and so am I, although I don't have as much fun as Kush, but I'm working hard to catch up. I don't want to duplicate Kush; I'll work to do Goli in a different style.”
