Madgaon Express, Kunal Kemmu’s Directorial Debut Outperforms Randeep Hooda’s Directorial Debut Swatantrya Veer Savarkar

Summary: Madgaon Express manages to wow the audience with its frisky comedy; people say the ‘Bollywood comedy is back”.

In the past, we got two directorial debuts: Kunal Kemmu’s ‘Madgaon Express’ and Randeep Hooda’s ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. While one is a comedy film, the other is a period drama. While both failed to attract the audience in the initial phase of its release, Madgaon Express performed much better than Swatantrya Veer Savarkar at the box office.

According to the estimation by Sacnilk, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar will earn approximately ₹1.15 crore on day 7 at the box office, while Madgaon Express will earn approximately ₹1.20 crore. Madgaon Express has made a total of Rs 11.35 crore, while Swatantrya Veer Savarkar has made a total of Rs 13.50 crore.

Madgaon Express consistently held a lead against Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, emerging as the obvious winner in the box office duel despite similar growth rates in their respective box office collections.

Randeep's film depicts the life of Indian liberation warrior Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, with Ankita Lokhande as Savarkar's wife, Yamunabai. In order to portray the lead role in the movie based on Vinayak Damodar's life during the freedom fight, Hooda underwent a drastic physical change. The film is produced by Zed Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep, and Yogesh Rahar.

On the other hand, Madgaon Express follows the adventures of three childhood friends, played by Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary, on a trip to Goa that takes unexpected turns. The film is produced under the banner Excel Entertainment, owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

In an attempt to improve ticket sales and attract a larger audience, the producers of both films have offered a buy one, get one ticket deal, intending to increase footfalls in theaters and boost box office collections.
