The 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 was hosted by Ayushmann Khurrana, Salman Khan, and Maniesh Paul. This award event is one of the most prominent and oldest in the Hindi film industry ongoing since 1954. It took place on 28 April at the Jio Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai. Several artists won prestigious awards, including Alia Bhatt who won the actor in a leading role (female) for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Rajkummar Rao on the other hand, won the best actor in a leading role (male) for the film Badhaai Do.

The award for the best movie went to Gangubai Kathiawadi. Badhaai Do received the best film (critics’) award. The best actress (critics’) was received by Tabu for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhumi Pednekar for Badhaai Do. Sanjay Mishra won the best actor (critics’) for Vadh. Anil Kapoor grabbed the best actor in a supporting role (male) for Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the best director for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Sheeba Chaddha got the best actor in a supporting role (female) for Badhaai Do. Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Suman Adhikary, and Akshat Ghildial win the best screenplay for Badhaai Do. And Ankush Gedam won the best debut (male) for Jhund. Utkarshini Vashishtha and Prakash Kapadia clinched the best dialogue award for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

· Andrea Kevichusa received the best debut (female) for Anek.

· Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial grabbed the best story for Badhaai Do.

· Rajeev Barnwal and Jaspal Singh Sandhu won the best debut director for Vadh.

· Arijit Singh received the best playback singer (male) for Kesariya from Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.

· Amitabh Bhattacharya got the best lyrics for Kesariya from Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.

· Kavita Seth got the best playback singer (female) for Rangisari from Jug Jugg Jeeyo.

· Prem Chopra won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

· Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray got the best production design for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

· Ninad Khanolkar won the best editing for An Action Hero.

· Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara won the best background score for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

· Sheetal Sharma received the best costume design for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

· DNEG and Redefine for best VFX for Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva

· Sudeep Chatterjee clinched the best cinematography for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

· Bishwadeep Dipak Chatterjee grabbed the best sound design for Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.

· Parvez Shaikh received the best action for Vikram Vedha.

· Jahnvi Shrimankar for Dholida won RD Burman Award for Upcoming Music Talent for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

· Kruti Mahesh for Dholida had the best choreography award for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

· Pritam won the best music album for the film Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.
