Naatu Naatu, a Song from the Film RRR to be Performed by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava at Oscars on 12 March 2023

Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava of the Oscar-nominated Naatu Naatu, will perform the song live at the 95th Academy Awards in March 2023.

Naatu Naatu, the famed song of the equally appreciated movie – RRR, will be performed on 12 March (13 March in India) at the 95th Academy Awards. RRR, an epic action film by SS Rajamouli is popular for Naatu Naatu, a song whose lyrics were written by Chandrabose, and whose music was given by Keeravaani. It is also one of the memorable events in the movie because of the dance by N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan. The song has a catchy tune sung by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.

Since its release, the song has grabbed over 122 million views solely on YouTube, becoming an instant sensation. The song, Naatu Naatu is nominated for the best original song category. Other competitors for the award are Lift Me Up from Black Panther, Applause from Tell It Like a Woman, This Is a Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once, and others.

This Oscar-nominated song will be performed by the respective singers. Thus, Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj will also make their debut at the Oscars event. No information is yet available as to if Jr. NTR and Ram Charan will join the singers on the stage. The song will be performed in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre. In Hindi, the song is released as Naacho Naacho, in Kannada as Halli Naatu, in Tamil as Naattu Koothu, and in Malayalam as Karinthol.

Naatu Naatu won the Best Original Song category award at the Golden Globes in January 2023. It then went on to get the Best Song award at the 28^th edition of the Critics Choice Awards, and the award for the Best Foreign Language Film as well. Alia Bhatt had recently performed on the song at an awards event sporting a white saree. She played an important role in the movie – RRR, which also had Olivia Morris, Shriya Saran, and Ajay Devgn as a part of the cast.

One of the interesting facts about Naatu Naatu is that it was shot at the Ukraine Presidential Palace (Mariinskyi Palace) in Kyiv. Fortunately, it was well a few months prior to the Russian military attack in Ukraine. The stage will be lit with performances such as that by Son Lux and Stephanie Hsu on This is a Life on the Oscar night, Rihanna on Lift Me Up, and David Byrne, and Jimmy Kimmel will host the award ceremony.
