The most Awaited sequel movie of the Bollywood film industry OMG 2, starring two powerhouse actors, Akshay Kumar, and Pankaj Tripathi is finally on the verge of release this month on August 11, 2023. Amidst all the controversies, on the top lies the CBFC's decision for giving the movie an A-certificate without any scene cuts or modifications, keeping its original content and narrative integrity.

OMG 2 is the most awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed movie “OMG: Oh My God!” released in the year 2012, and is highly anticipated by fans and critics alike. The first part of the movie dealt with the commercialization of religion and the concept of God, which was widely complimented for its not only thought-provoking theme, and powerful dialogues but also a stellar performance by none other than Khiladi Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. OMG 2 is expected to carry forward the legacy of its Prequel while delving deeper into contemporary social issues.

The CBFC’s decision to rate the film an A-certificate indicates that it can tackle complex subjects and mature themes. Meanwhile, this certification also suggests that the filmmakers have been given the creative freedom to bring out these themes without censorship. Keeping this unrestricted approach from the CBFC is being seen as a positive sign for filmmakers focusing to bring more powerful narratives that resonate with the viewers.

However, recently OMG 2 ran into another controversy after a priest from Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar temple requested the deletion of one scene filmed at the shrine. He demanded the deletion of some spots which were shot at the most renowned Mahakal Temple as they might hurt the religious feeling of viewers. He also stated that if the demand is not met, they will launch the protest across the country. Akshay Kumar leading the role along with the versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi made an advisable decision on this keeping immense excitement for their fans and movie enthusiasts. Both powerful actors are known for their ability to evoke diverse characters and bring depth to their roles, keeping a compelling cinematic experience in mind for the viewers.

OMG 2 producer, Ashwin Varde also expressed his elation about the CBFC’s decision, stating that the film was made keeping in mind the intention of conveying a powerful and thought-provoking message to its viewers. The entire team behind OMG 2 has put in appreciable effort to create a captivating storyline that sparks conversations around pressing societal issues.

Industry experts believe that the A-Certificate without any scene cuts is a testimony to the evolving landscape of Bollywood where filmmakers are progressively exploring unconventional subjects and presenting the audience with a fresh perspective. This move by the CBFC is considered a boost to originality in the industry and an acknowledgment of the audience’s maturity and openness to engaging with films that challenge the standard.

As OMG 2 make its move for its theatrical release, the viewer’s expectations are soaring high and it is expected to be one of the big box-office success, given the buzz and the star power surrounding the film. Although with an A-certification and no cuts, the film focuses to present a hard-hitting storyline that encourages the audience to contemplate and reflect on the issues directed in the narrative, keeping Bollywood’s commitment towards a meaningful cinema.

The makers of the film released a one min 26-second teaser of the movie 5 days ago and it seems that the movie is showcasing a glimpse of the lord of Mahakal- Lord Shiva, role played by Akshay Kumar and co-actor Pankaj Tripathi in the role of Shiva Devotee. They also released an influential song track titled “Har Har Mahadev” in which Actor Akshay Kumar is seen performing Tandav in Lord Shiva’s avatar.

So, I hope you loved the review and believe that all Shiv Bhakts will rush to watch the Powerful movie OMG 2 in theaters on the 11th Of August (Friday) to see what magic Lord Shiva shows to its Devotee
