Sikandar Ka Muqaddar: What does the ending mean?

Sikandar ka Muqaddar is the most recent thriller on Netflix by Neeraj Pandey. It has enticed the audiences and joined the likes of Sector 36. It follows the narrative of many criminals attempting to flee the authorities following a diamond robbery years ago. 

Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, directed by Neeraj Pandey, is a confrontation between two stubborn individuals, Jimmy Shergill and Avinash Tiwary, who each feel they are correct. The film has been making waves since its premiere due to its twisted ending.

The Hindi film shifts between the characters' viewpoints, unraveling a tale spanning from 2008 to 2003, centered around an unsolved diamond heist. The writer-director seeks to engage us emotionally in this intricate story of determination, but the almost two-and-a-half-hour runtime makes the concept feel extended. 

True to the classic heist film style, Sikandar Ka Muqaddar maintains suspense from start to finish, packed with secret identity unveilings, shocking treachery, and a conclusion that is bound to leave audiences stunned. 

At the beginning of the crime thriller, investigating officer Jaswinder Singh (Shergill) suspects three persons in connection with a shocking diamond heist.  The former top investigator's life is in ruins fifteen years later, yet he still feels his instincts were correct. Sikandar Sharma, a computer specialist played by Avinash Tiwary, is one of Jaswinder's main suspects. The film repeatedly attempts to show the spectator which of these men will collapse first.

In the end, we get to know that Sikandar’s wife, Kamini, is the informant of Jawinder (the investigator), who’s been keeping a watch on him. Jaswinder comes to know that she has been stealing diamonds too, but at a much lower cost. He threatens her to do as he says or face the consequences of the theft. 

Sikandar, however, offers Jaswinder a deal in the end; the scene cuts and the movie ends. Fans are left to speculate.

Most likely, he is proposing to give Jaswinder a portion of the diamonds. The five diamonds had a combined value of INR 50 crore in the past. Jaswinder is unlikely to accept the money, though.

This may be an opener to a possible sequel, which would follow the two when this bribe is accepted or rejected, possibly starting a new game of cat-and-mouse between them. But as of yet, no sequel to the streaming success has been revealed.
