Gadar 2 and OMG 2 to Clash in Theatres with Release on 11 August, Sunny Deal Says, Good Films Should Not Be Compared

Both the Akshay Kumar film Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) and the Sunny Deol film Gadar 2 will be released on August 11, 2023. Gadar 2 co-star Sunny was questioned about the competition with OMG 2 in a recent Bollywood news interview. Sunny also appears in Gadar 2 with Ameesha Patel. Sunny remembered how the Bollywood film - Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, starring Aamir Khan, and his 2001 movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha had collided. Since there is "no comparison" between the films, he claimed he does not understand "why people compare" them.

Sunny Deal feels that a good Bollywood movie shouldn't be compared to others when asked about Gadar 2 clashing with another movie on a Friday, OMG 2. As per Bollywood news, Gadar made more than Rs. 100 crore at the box office but Lagaan made far less. I fail to comprehend the comparison process, whether it is from a business or likeability standpoint. Gadar did not have the desired perspective; instead, people believed it to be a masala movie with old songs and a picture that was of the purani type.

On the other side, Lagaan was regarded as a classic, etc. Also, the Bollywood news had entirely downcasted the movie because of the critics. Later, it developed into a beloved film among the general public. According to Bollywood news, several spoofs were made on Gadar, some seen during award events as well. Sunny recounted that it has occurred with a few of his other movies as well, such as Dil and Ghayal. Although there is no parallel, people like to make them.

Sunny continued, "What I am trying to imply is that if a Bollywood movie is a hit, chances are that other movies will follow suit. Why do individuals feel the need to contrast a great movie with an inferior one? It is inappropriate to compare films that cannot be compared.” As per Bollywood news, on August 11, OMG 2 is scheduled for release in theaters. It will compete for viewers' attention at the box office alongside Gadar 2.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is reportedly examining the dialogue and situations in Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) in order to avoid a response such as that experienced by Adipurush in the future, revealed Bollywood news. The character played by Akshay in the Amit Rasi-directed sequel Oh My God 2 is modeled after Lord Shiva. Pankaj Tripathi plays Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a devotee of Shiva. Yami Gautam is portrayed as a lawyer in OMG 2.

As reported by Bollywood News, Arun Govil, and Govind Namdev are also expected to make an appearance in the movie. Gadar 2 on the other hand, was directed by Anil Sharma. It stars Sunny and Ameesha Patel in the key roles. Gadar came out in the year 2001. And it was an unbelievable blockbuster, becoming the highest-grossing film of its time. Now 20 years later, we are expecting a sequel to the film in the form of Gadar 2.

Anil Sharma stated they had roped in Ameesha (Sakina), Sunny (Tara Singh), and Utkarsh Sharma (Jeete) to play the same character as the original film. The Bollywood news indicated that the movie’s narrative has also advanced for 22 years. As Anil’s son Utkarsh has also grown up in the natural process of 22 years, the film has developed too and that’s how the narrative will be. So, for the viewers, the Bollywood film will be new like a new movie.
