Summary: John Abraham’s new film witnesses a huge drop in earnings on Monday.

The Diplomat was only able to collect ₹1.50 crore on day 4. The total moves up to ₹14.80  crore. The movie had a strong start though, people were thrilled with its story and offered praises. While it is released on the weekend, it will be fun to watch how it does on the weekdays.

On day one the movie collected ₹4.03 crore, picking the pace over the weekend and earning ₹4.68 and ₹4.74 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. But as we can how the numbers have lowered on Monday, it raises concerns about how well the film will do in the coming days.

The Diplomat is based on a true story, directed by Shivam Nair. It portrays an Indian Diplomat on a daring rescue mission, John Abraham playing the lead role. Character Uzma is played by Sadia Khateeb, a woman he rescues from Pakistan.

The storytelling is intense and it has widely received praise from the audience, but to stay in theatres, it will need strong support from the audience itself. Makers are hoping that the film will recover, as no big-budget movies are releasing as of now.

Talking about the movie John Abraham said it was more about sheer storytelling rather than the box office numbers. The focus will always remain on creating impactful narratives.
