Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma actress Palak Sidhwani was in the headlines for the past few days. The actress revealed what went on behind her back when she replied to the "legal notice" that the producers of the show sent her, accusing them of mental harassment. In an interview, Palak describes how producer Asit Kumar Modi vowed to erase her Instagram account overnight.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Palak discloses that the producers had given her permission to promote products and appear in commercials when she signed on to the show five years prior. Palak claims that even though everyone has promoted businesses, including her on-screen father Mandar, Munmun Dutta, and others, she is the only one who was criticized since she intended to leave the show and the producers had no other good reason to stop her.

The actress learned about the news of the contract breach after the producers made an official announcement. She recalls messaging Asit Kumar Modi on September 14: “Sir, physically I am not well; mentally it is adding to my stress. Can you please make me meet someone from your team on an urgent basis?"

When the actress confided in Asit Kumar Modi about how ill she was and how hard it was for her to shoot because of her anxiety, he simply replied, "If someone is available, they will meet."

The actress also revealed that she was asked to contact different people from the production house even though she wasn’t aware of the social and legal aspects of the case.

Even with the anxiety, she shot for the show 5 to 6 days continuously. She said, “Only I know what I was going through. I couldn't accept what was happening. I got a panic attack on the set. My brother had called me, and the call was on speaker. I was shivering, and my brother discovered that there was something wrong. My brother called the production head/company representative and asked him to rush to my room. He came and saw how I was holding my chair, sitting and shivering. He saw everything. He must have told Asit sir about my condition, but still there was no consideration.”

When she finally met Asit Kumar Modi, he threatened her, saying, “Tum itna mat uddo Instagram ke vajese se. Humare pass itni strong team hai ki hum raato raat udva sakte hai tumhara Instagram.”

The actress also accused the producers of subtly asking for a portion of her previous brand endorsements, revealing that they had inquired about all of her previous brand partnerships.

This is not the first time that Asit Kumar Modi has been accused of partiality, harassment, and abuse. The previous actor who has worked in the show also accused him of the same. The production house is yet to make any statement.
