Vicky Kaushal’s ‘The Great Indian Family’ Sees Slight Sunday Surge, Rakes In Rs 5.12 Crore In Opening Weekend At Box Office
Summary: Vicky Kaushal’s ‘The Great Indian Family’ Box Office Day 3: Sunday’s Earning Of Rs 2 Crore Cement The Movie’s Destiny.
Vicky Kaushal's family-oriented film, "The Great Indian Family," appears to be disappointing at the box office. On Sunday, it showed only slight improvement, earning approximately Rs 2 crore, as per early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk.
With a three-day total of Rs 5.12 crore, the film's prospects for a miraculous turnaround on its first Monday look grim, sealing its box office fate. "The Great Indian Family" marked Vicky Kaushal's second theatrical release of the year following "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke," which turned out to be an unexpected hit.
"The Great Indian Family" faced a lackluster opening on Friday, marked by unfavorable reviews and minimal marketing efforts. With almost no promotional push and lacking any standout hit songs, the film managed to muster just Rs 1.4 crore at the box office. Adding to its challenges, it had to contend with Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan," which continued to dominate the box office with strong collections even as it entered its third weekend.
Following the release of "The Great Indian Family," Vicky Kaushal is now eagerly anticipating the launch of his next project, "Sam Bahadur." Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film portrays the life of India's inaugural Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw. "Sam Bahadur" is scheduled to hit theaters on December 1st, setting the stage for a box office showdown with Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal."
Helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, renowned for his directorial work on films like "Dhoom 3" and "Thugs of Hindostan," "The Great Indian Family" narrates the journey of a man hailing from a lineage of priests and devout individuals. His life takes an unexpected twist when previously concealed information about his birth and heritage surfaces. The cast of "The Great Indian Family" includes notable actors such as Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Sadi Siddiqui, Alka Amin, Srishti Dixit, and more.
