Summary: Vivek Oberoi reflected on how his life changed after his dramatic split with Salman Khan. His family received calls from the underworld.

Vivek Oberoi was a heartthrob in the early 20s. But throughout the years, Vivek Oberoi's outspoken remarks and iconic brawl with Salman Khan received more media attention than his work. Vivek Oberoi publicly criticized Salman Khan, which now he says was immature and emotionally motivated behavior.

After the feud, Vivek was banned from Bollywood and has since revealed how his life changed. When Vivek Oberoi recently appeared on Dr. Jai Madaan's YouTube channel, he revealed that he had once been in a conflict zone.

His financial status was weak, he was stressed out, not to mention, that he would receive calls from the underworld. They would threaten him and his family over the phone which took a toll on him. It was worse because everything was happening at once.

“There was a time when I entered a conflict zone in my career, and because of that, I faced a lot of financial strain. I was very stressed. I would get calls from the underworld. I would get threats. And I’d never experienced anything like this in my life. All of this happened together.”

Vivek Oberoi talked about how the fiasco shook his entire family. His parents got threats, and everyone was concerned for his sister. His family initially believed that these were hoax calls, but after a police inquiry, they got to know the threats were real.

"It was an emotional response. I was very young. I understood the repercussions and consequences of my actions much later. I was fine with dealing with the consequences of my actions, but I was bothered when my parents were threatened. My dad would pick up the phone, and someone would threaten him; my mother would answer the phone, and someone would threaten her. I was scared for my sister. Initially, we thought that they were prank calls. But later, the police confirmed that the threats were very real.”

Vivek Oberoi recently stated in the same interview that he would not let Bollywood lobbyists determine his career. He delivered absolute bangers like Shootout At Lokhandwala, which won him instant stardom and countless awards, yet he found himself without new film offers.

"It was only around the 2009 mark when I decided I didn’t want to be completely dependent on this but build my economic independence. I didn’t want to be in a situation where a lobby could decide your future. Somebody could bully you into doing something because they controlled things.”

Vivek Oberoi saw his interest in business as a means of achieving independence rather than merely an emergency plan. He decided to shift his focus to business, which freed him from the sway of Bollywood lobbyists. His dedication and determination paid off, as he not only achieved success but also supported others. Vivek's commercial success is evidence of his spirit of entrepreneurship.
