Bhansali’s Love & War Heads to British-Era Army Base in Madhya Pradesh for Key Shoot

Summary: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War will film a 15-day schedule in Mhow, MP, using its colonial army base for period authenticity.

Love & War, the long-awaited period drama from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is getting ready for a busy shooting schedule in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. The crew will stay in the town for about 15 days. The town is known for having a well-preserved army base from the British era, which will give the movie a real military setting from before independence. Mhow, with its colonial architecture and vintage firearms, is a perfect setting for his great visual storytelling.

The film boasts a powerhouse cast—Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal—and has already shot parts in Mumbai, with upcoming scenes planned in Europe. After wrapping up in Mhow, the team will move to Italy in October, aiming to complete filming by the end of 2025 despite earlier delays.

Mhow is about 23 km away from Indore, officially known as Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, was once the headquarters of the British Army’s 5th Division. Today, it serves as a military historical hub, holding numerous top training schools.

Set in the middle of conflict, Love & War is a passionate story of love, friendship, and sacrifice. We all know the usual scale and visual splendor of Bhansali; it's shaping up to be one of his most expensive movies yet.
