Ishan kishan and Shreyas Iyer Dropped from BCCI’s Annual contract, Out from the Whole Season of 2023-24

BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) drops Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan from the whole cricket season and nullifies their central contract, which is the agreement between the selected cricketers and BCCI that defines their responsibilities, remuneration, and authorities for representing the Indian Cricket Team.
While Ishan Kishan holds the record for fastest double century in the history of ODIs, while the other is the highest run scorer of the World Cup 2023. What could be the reason for dropping such star players?
Ishan Kishan had his reason to ignore the BCCI norms, due to some personal reasons after the India Tour of South Africa in the last couple months. He was asked to play in the Ranji Trophy, but did not turn up for the match. Although he has been seen practicing with the new Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya.
Whereas, Shreyas Iyer too was missing from Mumbai's final league of Ranji Trophy against Assam, and also the quarter finals against Baroda. This made the BCCI take strict action against the players for not adhering to the rules of their contract.
Earlier, the BCCI’s secretary Jay Shah has written letters to the players associated with, and gave them the warning to focus on red ball matches more instead of IPL. Players were requested to play in domestic cricket if they are not playing in the national team. He also warned that the non-participation will not be tolerated and if that happens then the selector Ajit Agarkar will be given the free rein in this matter.
Players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah are positioned in the highest category, Grade A+, of the BCCI central contracts. And players like KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Shubhman Gill are promoted to the Grade A category in the list of central contracts, based on their significant contribution to the team and stellar performances. Meanwhile , Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Axar Patel are placed in the Grade B category.
