India vs. Australia 4th Test: Nitish Reddy's maiden Test century, but the rain stops the match.

Summary: In the fourth Test against Australia, Nitish Kumar Reddy kept India in the hunt with a bold maiden Test century on Saturday, displaying incredible tenacity and commitment.

Due to poor lighting and rainfall at the MCG, Australia appeared to be a little taken aback by the eighth wicket stand between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar, as the two teams left for an early tea.

With 105 runs off 195 balls, Reddy and Sundar have reduced India's deficit to 148 runs. Reddy reached his first Test half-century in 81 balls despite Pat Cummins's short-ball assault. At the end of the second session, he was hitting 85 off 119 balls, while Sundar was hitting 40 off 115.

On Day 3 of today's fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test match against Australia, which is taking place in Melbourne on Saturday, Nitish Kumar Reddy's first century put India in comeback mode.

India achieved 358/9 in 116 overs at Stumps, trailing by 116 runs after Australia's first innings total of 474, while the all-rounder stayed undefeated at 105* from 176 balls.

Maintaining his composure, Nitish formed a solid alliance with Washington Sundar, who also scored a half-century. The two successfully adjusted to the steady lines and lengths of Australian spinners and supported India's batting for a late comeback. On Day 4, with one wicket left, Nitish will bat again with Mohammed Siraj (2*).

India launched a counterattack led by Reddy, but Australia ended the first session much ahead of schedule after taking the wickets of Pant and Jadeja, leaving the Indians with just their final batting duo. When lunch was called, Reddy was hitting 40 off 61 balls, and India was 244/7, 230 runs behind Australia.
