India vs. Australia 5th Test Day 1: India all out at 185, witnessing a rough start to the test.

Summary: On Day 1 of the 5th Test in Sydney, India is trailing Australia by nine wickets.

Early in the third session, Scott Boland smashed Rishabh Pant's resilience. The pacer then shook India by removing Nitish Kumar Reddy on the next delivery.

Around the halfway point of the second session, Pant and Ravindra Jadeja were grinding it out against the unrelenting Australian fast-bowling attack. India's run rate fell below two runs per over.

For the fifth wicket, the two had only managed 9 runs in 60 balls. After Virat Kohli fumbled outside off stump for the umpteenth time, Jadeja stepped into the middle.

Indian openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal were quickly dismissed in the first session. Next came Shubhman Gill and Virat Kohli who looked like they would stretch the game until lunch.

However, Gill battled for 64 balls and scored 20 runs before falling to Nathan Lyon off the final ball of the session, seemingly preoccupied with his own gameplay.

Rishabh managed it till the tea after surviving several blows during the second session but right after it, he fell to Scott Boland after hitting 40 off 98 balls.

That put an end to his and Jadeja's 48-run partnership, which lasted 151 balls. After that, Boland sent Nitish Kumar Reddy back for a golden duck on the next ball, a shocker for India.

At the end of the second session, India was 107/4 in 50 overs, with Pant and Jadeja's partnership standing at 35 off an incredible 111 balls. Mitchell Starc struck Pant on the head and bicep in the same over, and Pat Cummins struck him in the crotch late in the session. He had it tough.

Virat Kohli carefully left balls outside off while dragging it out for 69 balls. But Scott Boland tricked him into taking a poke early in the second, and he edged it to third slip. Throughout this series, this strategy has worked against him flawlessly.

Jasprit Bumrah is once again leading India in this Test, while the struggling Rohit Sharma opts out of the match. Bumrah won the toss and chose to bat first.
