IPL 2024 Playoffs: DC outclasses LSG, and RCB’s chances to qualify for playoffs are high

Delhi used Abhishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs' blazing fifties to post a competitive total of 208, the team's seventh time scoring more than 200 this season. Delhi remained sixth on the IPL 2024 points table. They became the first team to play all 14 league matches. LSG, on the other hand, remains in the playoff chase, but with only a numerical chance. LSG is in seventh place with 12 points after 13 matches. Their net run rate (-0.787) dropped further after the last match. KL Rahul's team, which will face MI at the Wankhede on May 17, would have to win to make it to the playoffs.
This increases the chances of RCB reaching the playoffs after winning the last five consecutive matches. RCB had another chance to celebrate after DC defeated LSG by 19 runs on Tuesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
RCB presently has 12 points after six wins in the competition. Hence, KKR and RR were already out of their reach. The Super Giants might have easily scored 16 points, making it even more difficult for RCB to advance to the playoffs.
However, LSG's loss meant that they could only score 14 points in total. This is when RCB's chances of qualifying for the playoffs improved. Even if both RCB and LSG end with 14 points, the former will likely finish ahead of the Super Giants due to a higher net run rate. The Challengers have a net run rate of +0.387, whereas LSG is -0.787.
