Jyothi Yarraji Wins Gold in Women's 100m for Federation Cups Senior Athletics Championships as well as Qualifies for Asian Championships

Jyothi Yarraji won gold in the women's 100m hurdles while beating her own best on the favorable day of the Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships. She met the record with ease and earned laurels from the panel. Yarraji clocked 13.18 seconds in the preliminary round. She is from Andhra Pradesh. She met the qualification standard for the Asian Championships within the mark of 13.63 seconds. It is the Athletics Federation of India that sets these standards. Asian Championships will happen from July 12 to 16 at Bangkok. The second runner-up was R Nithya Ramraj from Tamil Nadu clocking in 13.44, while the third position went to Sapna Kumari who clicked on 13.58 seconds. She is from Jharkhand.

The gold for men's 100m hurdles as.expected was bagged by Tejas Ashok Shirse from Maharashtra for clocking in 13.72 seconds. Ankesh Chaudhary from Himachal Pradesh in the men's category clocked 1:49.73 in the preliminary round. And 1:49.93 was clocked by Anu Kumar from Uttarakhand.
