RCB vs LSG IPL Highlights: Lucknow Super Giants beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 28 Runs
Summary: Lucknow Super Giants manage to beat Royal Challenger Bangalore by 28 runs. Mayank was the player of the match.
Lucknow’s young bowler Mayank Yadav turned out to be the star player for this IPL match as well. He became the talk of the town after he dismissed Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green.
RCB was defeated by LSG by a total of 28 runs. LSG's utilization of spin at both ends from the outset hampered Royal Challengers Bengaluru's chase of 182 by containing both Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli in the opening two overs. Virat Kohli was dismissed for 22 off 16 by M. Siddharth, while Faf was run out by Devdutt Padikkal. Mahipal Lomror did his very best for RCB in the last over, scoring 33 of 13. However, he fell to Yash Thakur in the 18th over; this was pretty much RCB's end of hopes to win.
Earlier, LSG dominated the RCB bowlers with their outstanding batting. Quinton de Kock smashed 81 off 56 balls but later got dismissed by Reece Topley in the 17th over, which was too late. LSG witnessed low runs in the 15th and 18th overs. LSG managed to end at 181/5. Nicholas Pooran finished unbeaten on 40 off 21 after a few strong smashes in the final two overs.
Mayank Yadav won the player of the match award, for the two consecutive times. After receiving the award, he said, “Feel really good, two Player of the Match awards in two matches. I am happy that we won both the matches. My goal is to play for the country. I feel this is just the start. I enjoyed Cameron Green's wicket the most.”
