Summary: Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant wins hearts by helping the Bangladesh team set the field.

The Indian wicketkeeper wins the hearts of audiences once again, showing his love for test cricket. He scored a century against Bangladesh on the Chennai ground. But what gained the audience's attention apart from his stellar performance was his helping the Bangladesh players to set the field amidst the match.

After the match, Pant was asked about the behavior, and he gave an amazing reply. He said, "Firstly, I keep talking to Ajay Bhai off the field. He says that ‘the quality of cricket should keep improving'. Wherever you are playing and whoever you are playing against. I saw that there was no fielder there (mid-wicket). I saw two fielders in the same area. So I told them to move one fielder to the midfield position."

This was Rishabh Pant’s 6th test century after returning to the field, recovering from the grave incident. In December 2022, Rishabh Pant suffered from a near-fatal car accident that took him almost a year to recover from.

The great performances by Rishabh Pant and Shubhman Gill, who scored a century each, set a massive target of 516, which Bangladesh had to chase. While the opposite team started on a good note, all didn’t go well at the end. Bangladesh failed to achieve the target and were bowled out for 234 in their second inning at Chepauk.

Pant said, “100 was special because I love playing in Chennai. After injury, I wanted to play all three formats, and this was my first test. Hope to get better every day," after the 280-run win.

He further added, "It was emotional; I wanted to score every match that didn't happen but wanted to do well in tests, which is where I belong the most. Being on the field gives me pleasure more than anything else. I am always nervous before matches, even after hitting a hundred. And this time I was playing after two years, so nervousness there."
