Suryakumar Yadav Likely to Miss First Two IPL Matches for Mumbai Indians, Says the Reports

Summary: Suryakumar Yadav, who’s been missing in action since December last year, is likely to miss the first two IPL matches for the Mumbai Indians.

Suryakumar Yadav India’s Ace Batter has been out of action since December, as he is currently under rehabilitation at the NCA in Bengaluru. SKY was suffering from a sports hernia and had to go for surgery in January. He’s been on the recovery track, and there’s no guarantee that he will be back for the first two matches of the IPL (Indian Premier League) in 2024.

Looking at the current situation of the Indian right-hand batter, the chances are little to none. The first campaign of the Mumbai Indians will begin on March 24, two days after the opening of the tournament, which is between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Mumbai Indians will face last year’s runners-up, the Gujarat Titans.

According to reports from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), the NCA (National Cricket Academy) may not permit Suryakumar Yadas to participate in the first two matches of the IPL. Reports say, “Suryakumar Yadav's rehabilitation is on track, and he will certainly come back to play in the IPL. However, it is still not clear whether the NCA's Sports Science and Medical Team will give clearance to play in the first two games against the Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad."

The last time Suryakumar Yadav made a public appearance was during the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. If we go by Surya’s Instagram handle, he’s been doing a lot of strength and conditioning (S&C) routines, but we have yet to see him play. The last time Suryakumar Yadav played was in the T20I match against South Africa.
