Virat Kohli announces his new business venture. Fans, however, had a mini-heart attack.

Summary: Virat Kohli starts a new business in partnership with Sporting Brand.

Virat Kohli once again created a buzz on social media by revealing a new chapter in his life off-field.

Kohli, who has been known for his outstanding leadership and cricket skills, announced his association with Sporting Beyond and expressed excitement for this new beginning.

He shared a post on his social media handles:

“I am excited to announce a fresh start with a sporting brand, my new team, who have been working with me for a while now.”

“The team at sporting brand shares my goals and values of transparency, integrity, and a love for sport in all its forms. This opens a new chapter for me as I look forward to my partnership with my new team, who will be working with me on all of my business interests.”

Kohli's journey on the pitch this season has been somewhat bumpy. Kohli accomplished several milestones this year yet has struggled with his form recently.

After missing the England Tests in early 2024, the right-handed batter returned to assist India win the T20 World Cup in Barbados.

His performance has been patchy, especially in the most recent Test series against New Zealand, where he scored poorly and India lost the series 3-0.

His rankings have dropped as well, as he is now ranked 22nd in the most recent ICC Test rankings behind Mohammed Rizwan and Babar Azam of Pakistan.

Kohli's form continues to be a major concern as India gets ready for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

His post, however, caused a mini-heart attack for his fans. Fans believed that the 35-year-old had announced his retirement from cricket before his Border-Gavaskar trophy campaign in Australia because of the time frame and manner of the announcement. A few of the responses read:

“rooh kaanp gayi meri,”

“White background, text in two paragraphs, first glance at "this opens a new chapter" I thought,”

“1 min ke liye toh darr gaya tha main, retirement waala background colour hai yeh.”

Given that Kohli was nearing the end of his remarkable career, neither fans nor experts were considering retirement at the start of 2024.

However, as the year comes to an end, there are talks about India's potential to move past the legacy of the modern age and has begun to pick up steam, especially in the aftermath of the recently finished Test series against New Zealand, in which India suffered a crushing 0-3 thumping

Kohli had already retired from the T20I format. It is believed that he will play his final ODI match at the Champions Trophy in February of next year.
