JIO launches a new affordable prepaid plan for only ₹198 and a 98-day plan with unlimited 5G data.

Summary: Reliance Jio announced its most affordable prepaid plan, Rs 198, with a 14-day validity period.

Reliance Jio recently launched a new prepaid plan for users in India for ₹198, the most affordable prepaid plan as of now by the provider. It offers the same features as the Rs 349 plan but costs Rs 198.

How is that even possible? A minor drawback is that the Rs 198 plan has less validity and data despite costing over Rs 150 less. Nevertheless, the package provides free access to Jio's app store and limitless voice calling.

This pack is perfect for Reliance Jio users looking for an affordable recharge option. This pack includes unlimited 5G data for 14 days, making it one of Jio's affordable options.

The plan provides you with 100 SMS, along with 2GB of 4G data per day. The validity of this plan is 14 days. It allows you to use a total of 28 GB of data for 14 days. It gives you a complimentary subscription to the Jio apps suite but does not offer you a Jio Cinema Premium.

Meanwhile, JIO has also launched a new prepaid plan for ₹999 with a validity of 98 days, which offers 5G unlimited data and calling. Customers will get 100 SMS per day, unlimited calling, and free countrywide roaming. Jio customers will also receive subscriptions to Jio TV, Jio Cloud, and Jio Cinema (the base plan), which are valid for the duration of the plan.

Airtel's lowest package costs₹379, while Jio's lowest plan costs₹198. Which had been priced higher than Jio's previous lowest pack, which cost ₹349. However, with the new ₹198 plan, the price difference between Jio's lowest data plan and Airtel's data plan has increased significantly.

Jio increased the price of all its mobile services when they increased the tariffs last month. For the 1 GB data add-on pack, the lowest recharge option now costs Rs 19, up from Rs 15. This equals a 27% increase.

The 75 GB postpaid package would cost Rs 449, up from Rs 399. The popular Rs 666 unlimited package with 84-day validity will now cost Rs 799, a 20% hike. Annual recharge plans will also increase by 20-21%, while medium-range plans will rise by 19-21%.
