History of Ram Mandir
The site where Ram Mandir has been built today was acquired by Babur, the founder of mughal empire. He built Babri Masjid at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi in the 16th century. Hindus believed it was the land of Lord Rama. On December 6, 1992, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) organized a rally, where the mob demolished the Babri Masjid. This triggered the riots among the hindu and muslim community for several months, taking the lives of around 2000 people.
