Coldplay Concert: BookMyShow purchases 1.2 lakh tickets amid allegations; Coldplay’s retirement.

Summary: Anil Makhija, the chief operating officer of BookMyShow, confirmed they purchased 1.2 lakh tickets from Coldplay to resell them for the concert in January.

Anil Makhija, the chief operating officer of BookMyShow, revealed that the ticketing company bought 1.2 lakh Coldplay tickets to resell them for the January event. A senior officer with the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) stated that the comment was made during his most recent seven-hour interrogation.

Makhija was asked to visit on October 3 for more interrogation along with the required paperwork and information about the current investigation, according to a police officer.

The organization is looking into fraud claims and reselling the highly awaited event tickets on the black market. The investigator went on to say that these tickets had values ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹35,000 displayed on the BookMyShow app.

On the other hand, potential customers said that when they attempted to buy the tickets through the app, they were immediately sent to affiliated websites like Viagogo, where identical tickets were being offered for outrageous prices.

Fans and music enthusiasts debated Coldplay's retirement announcement. Martin stated in an interview with People that it takes a lot of effort and teamwork from the band members to record an album. He wants to spend more time with his fellow musicians in private while they're not in the band.

Amid the commotion, there are rumors on social media that the event could be canceled. However, no official announcement has been issued regarding adjustments to the event schedule.
