Fans flooded social media channels after being unable to book Coldplay concert tickets for January 18 and 19, 2025, in Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium.
An X user, Anirudh Garg, posted a video displaying the ticket availability of 30%, yet he was unable to book the tickets. “I still can’t believe it. What happened with me? It’s Cheating. It was my turn. Ticket availability was around 30% each for 4 stands as soon as I selected, but showed not available. This is heartbreak!”
One user wrote, “WTF @bookmyshow WTF IS THIS!!! @coldplay, cancel your show here in India. Your ticketing partners have internally given out tickets to Blackmarket! #Coldplay #Coldplayindia”
Some users are, however, offering free Coldplay tickets in exchange for likes and retweets. A user wrote, “Giveaway alert. Giveaway: 4 #Coldplay tickets. Like & Rt, we will select 4 lucky winners and will give 4 tickets for free.”
As part of a practice known as "engagement farming," which is essentially an effort to promote engagement through the use of controversial posts, other users are sharing the same screenshot with the promise of similar freebies.
