Cyclone Fengal: Heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu’s coastal districts; deep depression intensifies.

Cyclone Fengal has approached the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu. There's moderate rainfall in most parts of the state. Today, on Friday, it may witness extremely heavy rainfall in delta districts, Puducherry, Viluppuram, and Cuddalore.
The regions of Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh are expected to get rainfall as a result of the cyclonic storm that will likely emerge from the deep depression forming over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. The alerts have been issued for the same.
The cyclone may cause fog and partial clouds in Jharkhand since Friday. Over the two days, the system may raise the lowest temperature by two to three degrees Celsius.
Early on Friday, there were intense rains in Chennai and the surrounding area, and the weather was cold. On Friday, schools in the districts of Chennai and Chengalpet were given a day off.
By the morning of November 30, the depression is expected to reach land near Puducherry, between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram. Once the storm approaches the coast, it will bring heavy rains in coastal areas and moderate winds that range from 45 to 55 km/h with gusts up to 65 km/h.
The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal wi move over the coast between Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on November 30, as said by the India Meteorological Department.
The IMD has urged fishermen to stay out of the ocean until November 30 and warned of turbulent waves. The coastal regions of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are projected to see moderate to heavy rains along with strong winds.
Because of heavy rains, all the schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal areas are ordered to stay closed for two days, as declared by the Home Minister, A Namassivayam. The private and government-aided schools will also remain closed.
