Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: BJP Claims Massive Victory, AAP Loses Terribly.

Summary: Former CM Arvind Kejriwal concedes defeat in the Delhi Assembly Elections, and congratulates the BJP.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took the lead in 47 constituencies, according to EC data at 1:30 pm, after leading in early trends shortly after the Election Commission began counting votes at 8 am. AAP, which momentarily closed the gap, was on track to gain 22 seats, well below the majority of 36.

The Former Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal admitted defeat in the assembly elections and also congratulated the BJP. “We accept the mandate of the people with great humility. I congratulate the BJP for this victory and I hope they will fulfill all the promises for which the people have voted them. We have done a lot of work in the fields of health, education, and infrastructure in the last 10 years. We will not only play the role of constructive opposition but will also remain among the people and continue to serve them.”

AAP leaders Manish Sisodia from Jangpura and Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi lost. Meanwhile, CM Atishi won from Kalkaji. Unlike last elections, the AAP must make a comeback and catch up to overtake the BJP. Congress hasn't even opened its account yet.

The Congress has not won a single seat in the 70-member assembly, maintaining its record from the previous two elections in the capital. One of the leading candidates for chief ministership in the BJP is Parvesh Sahib Singh, who defeated Arvind Kejriwal.

The BJP and its supporters were expected to win, according to the majority of exit polls. 60.54 percent of voters cast ballots in the single-phase Delhi Assembly elections on February 5.

During the BJP's election campaign, the key focused topics were, the Yamuna River pollution, the liquor policy cases against Kejriwal and Sisodia, and the costs associated with refurbishing Kejriwal's chief ministerial mansion during the COVID-19 pandemic
