Details Leaked: KTM 390 Adventure, 390 Enduro, 390 SMC R
Summary: The interesting details on the KTM 390 Adventure, 390 Enduro, and 390 SMC R have been leaked.
The 390 Adventure, 390 Enduro, and 390 SMC are the three exciting new motorcycles that KTM has already announced will make their debut at EICMA. A picture that looks like an inside presentation has surfaced on social media, revealing some interesting information about all three motorcycles.
It is announced that there will be at least three models, starting with the new KTM 390 Adventure. Although the leaked image does not show it, the first will be the 390 Adventure R, the second will be the 390 Adventure X, and the third may be the 390 Adventure S.
The steel trellis frame of the new 390 Adventure R will be supported with a monoshock and an adjustable WP USD fork. According to the specifications that were leaked, the suspension has 230mm of travel.
Both on the road and on a trail, this should help it absorb a range of bumps and rough spots. Managing large leaps while off-road is another. An 18-inch rear wheel and a 21-inch front wheel support the bike. It appears that these wire-spoke rims are equipped with dual-purpose, tube-style tires.
The seat height is now 885mm due to the large wheels and the extended suspension travel. However, short riders in India might be put off by the high seat height. It is unclear if KTM will eventually implement a low seat height.
Like the current-generation 390 ADV, the 390 Adventure X will be the most basic model in the lineup. The bodywork of this motorcycle will be identical to that of the R, but it will have smaller cast wheels that measure 19 or 17 inches.
KTM has managed to drop the seat height to just 825mm, which is significantly lower than the existing 390 ADV. Suspension travel is also decreased, although it's still not awful at 200mm. The X's LCD dash and lack of corner ABS capabilities, which the R has, are two more cost-cutting features.
There isn't much information available about the 390 Enduro and SMC, although both bikes will have "mold-in" graphics, similar to those found on KTM's off-road competition versions. They have the same flat bench seat and bodywork.
While the image does not confirm it, the Enduro will be offered in both 390 and 125 configurations, and the SMC is probably going to be no different. The SMC has 17-inch alloy wheels with "shorter suspension travel," while the Enduro gets the same 21-inch/18-inch wheel setup as the 390 ADV R.
