Ed Sheeran’s Surprise Performance on Streets Interrupted by Indian Cops.

Summary: Ed Sheeran’s surprise street performance was cut short by Bengaluru police.

Imagine being stumbled upon your favorite singer on the street but in between the performance, he is abruptly stopped by the cops. That's what happened when Ed Sheeran gave a surprise visit to Bengaluru church street for a performance.

During the performance, cops unplugged the microphone due to footpath encroachment and lack of permission, just as the crowd assembled in amazement. Sheeran however, informed the crowd, "We've permission to be here, but this policeman is shutting it down. See you later!"

A minute after he began to sing at 11:51 a.m., Ed Sheeran was cut off. This led to debates on whether or not authorities should be more accepting and tolerant of spontaneous creative performances.

The local Cubbon Park police denied the authorization. When TOI tried to reach Ed Sheeran’s managers they received no response. Ed Sheeran is now in Bengaluru as part of his India tour.

Ed Sheeran posted on his Instagram saying, “We had permission to busk, by the way. Hence, our playing in that exact spot was planned out beforehand. It wasn’t just us randomly turning up.”

The Cubbon Park police said, “No one can perform on the footpaths or roads as it causes inconvenience to others. Our team asked them to stop. When they didn’t heed, the cops at the spot unplugged the mic connection.
