Elon Musk to Exit as Twitter CEO, Onboarding a Female as Replacement in the Next 6 Weeks

Elon Musk, owner of Twitter has said that he will step down from the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and has found a fine replacement, who will be a woman. Elon Musk who had acquired Twitter last year left a tweet that went viral about this announcement. Since then, a lot is being discussed as to who shall be the possible candidate, and in the race for the next CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino has emerged to top the list.

Musk said a few hours ago that he is excited to announce to have hired a new CEO for Twitter. And the person will start off within the next 6 weeks. He also said that though he is not going to be the CEO anymore, he will be transitioning to the role of executive chair & CTO to oversee product, software, and sysops.

The LinkedIn profile of Yaccarino states that since 2011 she had been with NBC Universal. And presently, she is holding the position of chairperson of global advertising and partnerships. Earlier with the same organization, she was in the sales cable entertainment and digital advertising sales division.

Yaccarino for 19 years was the Executive Vice President/COO of Advertising Sales, Marketing, and Acquisitions at Turner. She is also a renowned industry advocate to measure the effectiveness of advertising and finding better ways for it. She has studied liberal arts and telecommunications at Penn State University.

According to a source, Yaccarino in the past had revealed her wish to become the CEO of Twitter to her friends. Also, the rumor about Ella Irwin stepping in as the next CEO is perhaps not going to shape into a reality as she is heading the trust and safety efforts division of Twitter. After her promotion, Ella reportedly developed a strong affiliation with Musk.
