Indian Army Repels Pakistani Drone Attacks Along Western Border

Summary: The Indian Army destroyed drone and munition attacks from Pakistan along the western border, including the LoC, with no casualties or losses reported.

In a significant escalation of tensions, the Indian Army announced on May 9 that it had effectively repulsed a series of coordinated drone and munition attacks initiated by the Pakistan Armed Forces along the western border, encompassing the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. These attacks occurred during the intervening night of May 8 and 9, 2025.

Pakistani forces used drones and other weapons in their attack and violated the ceasefire along the LoC. The Indian Army responded effectively, neutralizing these threats.

The Army emphasised its commitment to defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that any hostile action will be dealt with decisive force. The Army shared a video of airstrikes destroying a Pakistani station along the LoC, demonstrating India's firm reaction to the provocations.

These developments follow India's Operation Sindoor, a series of precision missile strikes targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, conducted in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

The Ministry of Defence warned that any attack against Indian military sites would result in an appropriate response. In a statement, the ministry acknowledged that Pakistani drones and missiles targeted military posts in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur, all of which were quickly neutralised using both kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities, by established operating procedures. There were no casualties or material losses reported.

As tensions persist, the Indian armed forces remain on high alert, prepared to counter any further threats to national security.
