Jio's Bharat GPT with IIT-B: Akash Ambani Reveals Plans for OS on Televisions

Reliance Jio Infocomm chairman Akash Ambani on Wednesday said the country's largest telecom company will launch the 'Bharat GPT' program in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
The company, a unit of Reliance Industries, is also "fully considering" launching an operating system for televisions, he said, adding that it has been working on it for some time.
His 32-year-old scion of the Ambani family said at the institute's annual tech fest held here that building an "ecosystem of development" is very important for the company, adding that "Jio He added that work on the "2.0" vision is already underway.
"We have been working on a project in collaboration with Bombay Institute of Technology to start the Bharat GPT programme," he said while talking about his Jio partnership with leading technical schools dating back to 2014.

He also said the company is excited about offering a private 5G network, which will allow him to offer a 5G stack to all businesses, regardless of size.
Mr. Ambani called India the "biggest innovation hub" of the next decade and expressed confidence that the country would become a $6 trillion economy by the end of the decade.
AI "devours everything," Ambani said, describing how yesterday his brother-in-law showed him an AI app that can be used to control the temperature of a mattress. “For me, AI doesn’t just mean artificial intelligence, it means everything inclusive,” he said.
He said Jio works with the belief that what it pursues is good for India and that money is a "by-product" of the services provided to the country.
Ambani termed Jio the world's largest startup and said young entrepreneurs need not fear failure.
Mr. Ambani also urged entrepreneurs to work for the benefit of society, especially when working in the consumption sector, and urged everyone to show great passion for their work.
Technology is a "great equalizer" that transcends boundaries such as demographics and caste, he said, adding that Jio is always looking to future technologies.
