As per the reports, Liam Payne died after a balcony fall from his hotel in Buenos Aires. He attended Niall Horran’s concert, his former bandmate, earlier this month. 

Police have been informed about an ‘aggressive man who may have been under the effect of drugs and alcohol’ in the lobby. The hotel manager reported hearing a loud boom in the back of the hotel, and when police arrived, they discovered that a guy had fallen over the balcony in his room.

According to Buenos Aires police, Payne fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in the famous Palermo area of Argentina's capital, causing "extremely serious injuries." He was declared dead on the spot, and there was nothing they could do to save him.

Alberto Crescenti, the chief of the state emergency medical system, told Argentina's Todo Noticias channel that Payne fell into an indoor courtyard of the hotel.

Crescenti said, “A few minutes later [an] emergency team arrived and confirmed the death of this man, who we later learned was from a musical group. He had injuries incompatible with life as a result of his fall. There was no way to do anything.”

Liam Payne recently traveled to Argentina with his ex-bandmate Niall Horan, who took the stage at the Movistar Arena on October 2. During the concert, Payne was spotted enjoying himself, dancing and singing along with the enthusiastic crowd of Horan's fans.

In a 911 call obtained by the AP, the hotel manager can be heard saying, “a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol. He’s destroying the entire room, and, well, we need you to send someone, please.” As the call continued, the manager's tone became more anxious, noting that the room has a balcony.

Liam Payne openly discussed his battle with alcoholism, sharing a video on his YouTube channel in July 2023 where he revealed he had been sober for six months following treatment. His representatives have not yet responded to emails and calls.

Liam Payne, originally from Wolverhampton in the UK, rose to global fame when One Direction was formed on the X Factor in 2010. The band swiftly became the most popular boy band in the world before going on hiatus in 2016. Payne released his first solo album in 2019. 

The band has given some of the biggest hit songs like “What Makes You Beautiful," “Night Changes,” and “Story of My Life.” Payne showcased his vocal talents with standout performances on tracks like “Stole My Heart” and “Change Your Ticket,” and he also co-wrote a number of the band’s popular songs. 

By the time the group parted ways in 2016, they had achieved six Top 10 hits on the Billboard charts and built a dedicated fan base called “Directioners,” which included many enthusiastic teenage girls.
