Witnessing the attraction towards the Maha Kumbh in the country and the world is incredible. Almost 1.75 crore devotees dipped at the Triveni Sangam yesterday.”
Vibrant cries of slogans and bhajans marked the official start of the Maha Kumbh 2025. As pilgrims, many in groups approached the Ganga River and chanted "Jai Ganga Maiyya" before taking the holy bath, the excitement at the Sangam area was evident.
The Sangam Ghat saw a sizable influx of pilgrims from both India and beyond, according to the state government.
Mahakumbh Mela occurs once every 144 years. Seers pointing out that the celestial alignments for it only happen once every 144 years increase the event's spiritual significance.
