Harmanpreet Singh Says That the Indian Men’s Hockey Team is Fully Geared for FIH Pro League Matches

The FIH Pro League 2023 is ongoing in England, and Harmanpreet Singh, the Indian men’s hockey team captain feels that the squad is prepared to take on the upcoming matches with vigor. Singh commented in an event hosted by the Indian High Commission in London that they will either win or learn and for every game, the team maintains this attitude. The statement comes after India’s loss to Belgium by 1-2 and a defeat against Great Britain by 2-4 recently.
But Harmanpreet feels that they never lose and only ever learn as per what he said in the diaspora event. Craig Fulton, the Indian men’s hockey team coach was also present at the special reception in London. India has a good lead, placed second after winning five matches but behind Great Britain according to the tally. With the remaining FIH Pro League matches, on Friday, the team will face Belgium, while encountering Great Britain on Saturday.
The matches are being held at Tennis Centre in north-east London and Lee Valley Hockey. Harmanpreet said that after a gap of a few years, they are in London, and it is great because the team was here in 2017, and after that, they are finally back again in the form of a competitor in the Pro League. Singh also said that the team is fully geared for the rest of the matches and that things are going well. He called on everyone to support the team.
The informal interaction gave room for the teammates to express their views as well. The event was coordinated by the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to the UK. The players spoke about the great boding they share within their team, and there was some banter on keeping morale high and coping mechanisms through wins and losses. They thought that India is a mix of different cultures and hockey unites them with other shared habits.
The team’s coach Craig Fulton said that it is a beautiful thing that the Indian men’s hockey team has talent with a craft. Also, the team members always backed their country. The squad is a different kind of style and that is a special thing because being Indian works for them, reflecting their nature and love for unique relationships among each other, bringing the best results.
