India to Play Against Australia in WTC Final 2023, Chances of a Win Despite its Poor Record at Kennington Oval

India will take on Australia in less than a week in the World Test Championship final in 2023. Fans are anticipating India to win but the past record of the Indian men’s cricket team at the Kennington Oval in London has been poor. However, the team being led by Rohit Sharma will like to change the fate this time and win the match. At this venue, the Indian side initially played a test match in 1936. But the game did not go well for India, and they lost it much more embarrassingly.

The host seized the game, winning by 9 wickets. But after the loss, the Indian men’s cricket team has played many times at the Oval. However, they could not turn it in their favor and secure wins. At this venue, India has competed in 14 test matches. Out of these, it has lost 5 and won only 2. And the remaining matches were a draw. However, what may sound comforting for the Indian men’s cricket team is that the pitches shall be dry because of the English summer.

The pitch, thus, can come to aid the Indian spinners. The same is the opinion of Steve Smith, an Australian batsman, who thinks that the pitch will help the ball spin from the fourth day of the match. The Indian cricket team will have Rohit Sharma (captain), Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, Virat Kohli, KS Bharat, Ishan Kishan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav.

The Australian cricket team will comprise the captain – Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Alex Carey, Travis Head, Marcus Harris, Scott Boland, Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Todd Murphy, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Steve Smith. Both the teams are eying for their first championship. After the final, in the Ashes series – Australia will play England from 16 June with the first test at Edgbaston.
