Sanya Malhotra to Star Next to Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan, Saying It is a Dream Project for Her

Sanya Malhotra had a wonderful line of projects in 2022 and is going to star in Kathal, after which the film Jawan opposite Shah Rukh Khan, her dream project will release. In 2023, she has a few assignments upcoming such as the Sam Bahadur next to Vicky Kaushal, and The Great Indian Kitchen, a Hindi remake of a Malayalam film. The actress said that the social satirical film, Kathal has drama, comedy, and romance but has a strong social message as well. The project was something that she could not say no to as it touched her heart.
It is a movie that you can watch with your family. Pagglait (2021) won her a lot of love and Kathal is a film by the same makers. She accepted the offer for Kathal after listening to only a one-line pitch for it. She had received a call from Guneet (Monga) after Pagglait, who said that she has a one-line for the interesting script. The actress could relate to the project after the one-liner. Sanya said that she is looking for characters that other people like to watch and that inspire her. She is also thankful for her association with Netflix, Balaji, and Sikhya.
With Aamir Khan's Dangal, which captivated audiences with its story and emotions, Sanya had a remarkable acting debut. She later starred in critically praised films including Photograph, Badhaai Ho, and Pataakha. After Dangal, she had the wonderful fortune to work with some excellent directors and be a part of several outstanding films. She is grateful that authors like Yashovardhan are creating characters like Mahima and that she can contribute to the transformation of how women are portrayed.
The actress said that she likes glamorous roles but has not done anything like that yet. She wants to try everything and will like to also do a commercial potboiler. Sanya said that she is drawn to films and characters, which represent a message. She likes to play the role of powerful woman on the screen. She does not want to be just in a particular comfort zone as otherwise, she will stop learning. She is also looking ahead to Atlee’s directorial – Jawan, for which she completed the shooting last year.
The film will showcase actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and others. Sanya said that she is excited to talk about the project as earlier when asked if she was in Jawan or not, she could not reveal the details. She always wanted to work with SRK and now her dream is coming true and cannot wait for the film to release. It makes her really happy to have found her dream film and dream role.
