OpenAI announces a new "Deep Research" tool for ChatGPT.

Summary: Amid the hype surrounding DeepSeek, Open AI has now announced a new ‘Deep Reserach’ tool for Chat GPT.

OpenAI has launched a new ChatGPT feature called "deep research." This tool aims to do complex multi-step research tasks on the internet by itself. Users can ask questions and give extra info through text, images, PDFs, or spreadsheets. ChatGPT then makes and follows a research plan giving full reports with sources in 5 to 30 minutes.

OpenAI's upcoming o3 model, which is better at web browsing and data analysis, powers the "deep research" feature. It combines info from many online sources, including text, images, and PDFs, to create detailed reports. This tool takes tens of minutes to do what would take a person several hours.

Even though the tool has some impressive abilities, it's not perfect. It struggles to tell the difference between reliable info and gossip, and it's not great at showing when it's not sure about something. Starting Sunday, you can use this "deep research" feature on ChatGPT's website. Later in February, it'll show up on phone apps and computer programs too.

OpenAI has launched its o3-mini model as competition heats up in the AI sector. DeepSeek, a new player from China shook the market with a top-notch open-weight system. OpenAI brought forward o3-mini’s release promising swift performance economic use, and sharper thinking skills because of this shake-up.

ChatGPT will get a boost from OpenAI's "deep research" feature lending a hand to users needing wider and speedier research help. As AI keeps on developing, these types of leaps show how big-name brands are hustling to maintain their lead in the fast-changing AI world.
