The drug licensing authority suspended the product licenses due to violations of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
The company did not submit the requested information about the products, and the explanation offered in defense was insufficient, according to the authority's order, as reported by newswire PTI.
Patanjali Ayurved, Ramdev, and Balkrishna apologized to the Supreme Court on April 16 during the contempt case hearing for printing misleading ads. The Supreme Court ordered Patanjali's attorneys to submit a copy of the apology ads for the record on April 23.
On Tuesday, April 30, the Supreme Court will hear the matter on the published apologies.
