PM Modi Takes a Jab at Opposition Ahead of Union Budget 2025.
Summary: "1st Time Since 2014 - No Foreign Interference Before Parliament Session," says PM Modi, taking a jab at the Opposition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a jab at the opposition ahead of this morning's budget session, saying that this is the first time since 2014 that no foreign forces have tried to cause disruptions before a budget session.
In his usual pre-session comments, he pointed out that it’s become somewhat of a trend for certain individuals to cause a bit of “mischief” before each meeting. He noted that he's been observing this since 2014, when the BJP took the reins at the national level.
He said, “Since 2014, this is the first Parliament session that saw no 'videshi chingari' (foreign interference) in our affairs, in which no foreign forces tried to ignite a fire. Before every budget session, I noticed that people were ready to do mischief. And many in our country leave no stone unturned to fan these sparks.”
You must wonder why he said this, so here’s the scoop: there’s been some laughter following a few parliamentary sessions that got a bit shaken up—not least because of those false claims from the U.S.-based short-seller, Hindenburg. It's weird since they recently said they were wrapping things up.
In the Budget, a big emphasis is promised on supporting young people and women. PM Modi said, “This is the first complete budget of my third term. I can confidently say that in 2047, when India completes 100 years of Independence, India will fulfil its aim of 'Viksit Bharat'.”
“In particular, Nari Shakti and women empowerment will be the centre of focus. Reform, perform, and transform will be our second area of focus.”
Today kicked off the Budget Session with President Droupadi Murmu addressing both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha together. And we’ll hear from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today as she presents the Economic Survey, followed by the Union Budget tomorrow.
The budget is divided in two section, one starts today January 31. till February 13, and the second session will start from March 10 to April 4.
