Ahead of AI Summit PM Modi Meets JD Vance and Macron at Paris Dinner.

French President Emmanuel Macron gave a welcoming dinner at the Elysee Palace for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, once he arrived in Paris on Monday ahead of the AI summit. On his arrival, Mr. Macron gave his "friend" PM Modi a hearty embrace.

 

Posting the arrival video of PM Modi at the Elysee Palace for the welcome dinner on his X account he wrote the caption, "Welcome to Paris, my friend @narendramodi."

 

PM Modi met US Vice President JD Vance and several other international leaders who will be attending the AI Summit. This was the first time the two leaders had met since Mr. Vance took office last month. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) released pictures of the three leaders mingling during the welcome meal.

 

This is his 6th visit to France and in his departure statement he said that along with his "friend" President Macron, he will have the chance to evaluate the status of the 2047 Horizon Roadmap for India-France strategic cooperation during the bilateral portion of his visit.

 

After today's AI Summit, PM Modi and President Macron will go to Marseille, where the latter will host a banquet in PM Modi's honor. 

 

The two presidents will visit the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille on Wednesday to pay tribute to Indian soldiers who served and died during World War I. 

 

Many Indian soldiers who served in France during the war are buried in the Mazargues War Cemetery, which is managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

 

He will mark the end of his France tour with a significant visit to Cadarache, the location of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a large joint scientific project aimed at developing clean nuclear fusion energy in which India is a vital partner.
