Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Bharat Sahni, Rima Jain, Manoj Jain, Aadar Jain, Aarman Jain, his wife Anissa Malhotra, Nikhil Nanda, and Nitasha Nanda, ahead of late Raj Kapoor’s birthday.
On December 14, members of the Kapoor family met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend an invitation to celebrate the 100th birthday of actor Raj Kapoor.
Alia Bhatt shared some sneak peek from the meet with the caption, “Art is timeless. And sometimes to move forward, we must look back and learn. Mr. Raj Kapoor’s impact was truly global. He marked his footprint all across the world with the movies he made, the stories he told.”

Kareena also shared some pictures and wrote, “We are deeply humbled and honored to have been invited by the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, to commemorate the extraordinary life and legacy of our grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor.”

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni recalls how Rishi Kapoor gifted the entire collection of Raj Kapoor’s movies to her Father-in-law Shrawan Sahni.
She shared, “I have his entire collection with me here. When I got married, my father gifted my father-in-law the entire collection of Raj Kapoor movies. We used to watch one every other day. He gifted the series in 2006, it was a really special gift.”
RK Films, the Film Heritage Foundation, and the National Film Archive of India have partnered to host a major retrospective titled "Raj Kapoor 100 – Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman" in honor of Raj Kapoor's centennial. From December 13 to 15, 10 of Raj Kapoor's classic films will be shown in 135 theaters across 40 Indian cities as part of the celebrations.
