Sriram Krishnan, an Indian-American, is appointed the new AI Policy Advisor.

Summary: Trump appoints Sriram Krishnan as his AI Policy advisor along with David Sacks.

Sriram Krishnan, an Indian-American entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and author, is appointed as the Senior White House Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Until recently, Sriram Krishnan was a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz and a personal investor in more than two dozen startups including SpaceX.

Previously leading product teams at Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo!, Facebook, and Snap, Mr. Krishnan will collaborate with David O. Sacks, the White House AI and Crypto Czar.

Through a post on X, the 41-year-old thanked the opportunity and acknowledged the offer to join the future administration.

He wrote, "I'm honored to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI working closely with @DavidSacks. Thank you @realDonaldTrump for this opportunity.”

In a previous post on the Truth Social platform, Donald Trump announced that Sriram Krishnan would join the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence.

"Working closely with David Sacks, Sriram will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI, and help shape and coordinate A.L. policy across Government, including working with the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Sriram started his career at Microsoft as a founding member of Windows Azure.”

Krishnan graduated from SRM Engineering College with a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology. The college is associated with Chennai, Tamil Nadu's Anna University.

He is a well-known and respected figure in the Indian American community. Together with his wife, Aarthi Ramamurthy, he broadcasts the well-known podcast "The Aarthi and Sriram Show."

The upcoming AI policy adviser will become part of an administration taking office on January 20. The new Trump cabinet appears to be notable for two factors: the presence of Indian Americans and the number of billionaires involved.
